‘dont ignore me’

I have created a body of work where the individuals have become alienated from their social selves. My project focuses on illustrating the identities of individuals in our contemporary society by focusing on the psychological dimension of self-importance, in the context of specific social spheres. This work contains eleven images of eleven people (showing only one here) from different age and gender, placed in their everyday cultural identity and social roles that they experience. In the images, each person appears disconnected from their surroundings; the low opacity effect is deliberately used to disguise their individuality and their disengagement with their environment.
Furthermore, each individual in this series poses as a metaphor for the loneliness of the human soul.
